Is Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” about masturbation?

I’ve only heard this song a couple times, but this morning when it popped up on YouTube, a couple lyrics about “self love” stood out to me.
When I get chills at night I feel it deep inside without you, yeah Know how to satisfy Keeping that tempo right without you, yeah
If you think she’s talking about her soul, wait for it.
Pictures in my mind on replay I'm gonna touch the pain away I know how to scream my own name Scream my name
There we go.
There have already been several blog posts speculating whether Steinfeld is singing about masturbation. There has even been a reaction video. I couldn’t get through the whole thing, but I’ve linked it below if you like watching teens get embarrassed and/or grossed out by vaginas.
When asked about the lyrics, Steinfeld coyly said they were open to interpretation.
I'm gonna put my body first And love me so hard 'til it hurts I know how to scream out the words Scream the words
I’m down with this. No really, for once I’m not being facetious. The words are pretty empowering for a twee song by an 18-year-old actress-turned-singer. Sure, the metaphor isn’t as obvious as a Miley Cyrus video, which makes sense for Steinfeld’s image. But I like that she’s subtly encouraging girls to love themselves, whether that be emotionally or physically.
The song, itself isn’t great, but that’s nothing a remix can’t fix.
Also, if you want a way catchier/sexier/all around better masturbation song?
You're welcome.
