Dolce & Gabbana is cool with same sex parents now

In a half assed attempt to convince the public that they’re all good with same sex families, Dolce & Gabbana has farted out a capsule collection that could be likened to Shia LaBeouf’s #IMSORRY exhibition.

Stefano Gabbana instagrammed some pictures of handbags and t-shirts emblazoned with the finest Clip Art families they could find on Microsoft Word. It’s so refreshing to see a change of heart from the fashion house right when celebrities like Elton John started boycotting the brand.

If you don’t remember, last year Domenico Dolce told Italian magazine Panorama:

I am gay. I cannot have a child. I believe you cannot have everything in life.... You are born from a father and a mother. Or at least that is how it should be. For this reason I am not convinced by what I call children of chemistry, or synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog. The family is not a fad. In it there is a supernatural sense of belonging.

Personally, I don’t think it’s right to boycott Dolce & Gabbana based on one designer’s beliefs. As much as I disagree, he’s entitled to his opinion. That doesn’t mean the rest of the people at the company should suffer. Not that that’s going to happen anytime soon, though.

That said, if you’re trying to win the public back on your side, at least try harder than pulling illustrations from Caillou.
