Coincidentally, all I’ve been listening to tonight have been The Little Mermaid and Thumbelina soundtracks (both starring Jodi Benson). “Part of Your World” is a f-cking masterpiece. But sure, whatever, keep telling yourselves “Let It Go” is a modern classic.

Billboard has reported exclusively that Sara Bareilles and Rebel Wilson will be headlining Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” at the Hollywood Bowl.

Wilson will kill it as Ursula. I can’t wait to see her in full hair and makeup. Bareilles, I’m not so sure. Can she really pull off Ariel’s crescendos?

The celebrity cast will include John Stamos as Chef Louis (um, okay), Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Darren Criss as Prince Eric, Norm Lewis as King Triton and Joshua Colley as Flounder.

Bareilles is following in the footsteps of many one-hit wonders before her. Carly Rae Jepsen played Cinderella on Broadway and Ashlee Simpson took the stage as Roxy in Chicago for some ungodly reason.

Also, I just found this video of Wilson swimming around in a mermaid costume. How did I miss this?
