Everything is awful

In 2016’s latest spew of awful, Amber Heard has been granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her estranged husband, Johnny Depp, after he allegedly assaulted her last Saturday.
The original narrative was what a cold bitch Heard is for filing three days after Depp’s mother, Betty Sue died. Now we know there wasn’t much choice. According to TMZ:
She claims Depp smashed his iPhone on her face. Amber claims during the alleged attack, Johnny shattered various objects in the apartment. She says she was on the phone with a friend during the fight, and when Johnny grabbed her phone she screamed to her friend, "Call the cops!" The friend called 911 and cops came to the residence.
Amber says when cops arrived Johnny had already fled, so they took a report.
We're told cops told Amber they would find Johnny and arrest him if she gave a statement about the alleged violence, but she refused. Officers told her if she changed her mind she could call them.
TMZ has obtained photos of Heard’s bruised face after the reported attack. Sources from her camp have told PEOPLE that it wasn’t the first time, and definitely not the worst. She also claims that she has video evidence of the other times Depp hit her and that after the phone incident, he apparently “offered her money to stay quiet.” Heard refused and filed for divorce that Monday.
While Depp hasn’t responded to Heard’s allegations, sources from his team told TMZ that she’s lying because she didn’t immediately file a police report and purportedly instagrammed selfies after the incident showing no bruises.
First of all, I’m not even sure Heard has an Instagram account, or at least it must be private. Second, how do you explain her bruised face walking out of court on Friday, or leaving a legal meeting with a friend yesterday? See her throwing her head back laughing? That’s because she knows her human wax figure of a husband is f-cked.
Although Depp, himself hasn’t commented on the situation, his ex, Vanessa Paradis and daughter, Lily-Rose are vouching for him.
In a handwritten note (BECAUSE SHE IS SO FRENCH) obtained by TMZ, she said, “In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years.”
Yesterday Lily-Rose instagrammed a childhood picture of herself with her dad.
An hour ago, she posted a screenshot from PEOPLE, in which LAPD Sgt. Marlon Marrache says “There was no evidence of any crime.”
Of course they would defend him. Families stick together. But I feel sick at the idea that they are calling a domestic violence victim a liar.
While it’s painfully obvious that Heard is telling the truth, the cards are stacked against her. She’s accusing one of the most powerful men in Hollywood of assault. Disney is counting on Depp to bring in money for two blockbuster family frachises. He’s represented by Laura Wasser, the queen of Hollywood divorces. Even the subtle wording of TMZ’s report hints at doubt that Heard was even hit. On top of that, we live in a society where women are silenced by shame or fear of losing their reputation or career. It’s Amber Heard against an entire institution.
I can already see Ryan Murphy drafting up season 2 of American Crime: The People vs. Johnny Depp.
