In times of uncertainty, Iggy Azalea’s ass is a higher truth

In case anyone forgot, butts are still a thing. But I’m pretty sure underboob is running a close second this season (see Fenty x Puma Fall RTW, Tina Fey in Sisters). Also, Iggy Azalea’s still relevant, which was probably the other other message with her new music video “Mo Bounce.”

In typical Iggy fashion, there’s plenty of twerking in high rise jeans as she does her best Nicki Minaj impression.

Hilariously, news.com.au reports that she says the word “bounce” over 130 times in just over three minutes. I’d hate to be the intern that had to count them all.

I’m not going to lie, it’s super catchy (feel free to hate me). I can totally see it featured in a commercial or some Amy Schumer trailer. Maybe Pitch Perfect 3 will find a way to sing it a capella, who knows.

While the video has clocked over 28 million views on YouTube, the single has been a flop on US and UK charts (although it did make No. 8 on the Australian urban chart).

Not a good sign for her already delayed album Digital Distortion, which sounds like a potential Black Mirror episode about minstrelsy in pop culture. Her last single “Team” was No. 42 in the US last March.

But not to fear Azaleans! Iggy, the same dumbass who proclaimed Beyoncé’s “Becky with the good hair” line was racist against white women, has launched a “twerking challenge.” Like the “mannequin challenge”, fans are supposed to post videos of themselves twerking to “Mo Bounce” on social media.

And the results have been extraordinary.

Without further ado, here’s Iggy’s new video.

Or you can just watch Martin Starr wax poetic about asses. Your call.
